Depression and How We Feel the Need to Be Perfect

This class is going to be fabulous tonight! We are having a skilled Therapist come and talk to us about depression and how it can affect our lives whether it is us that suffer or someone we love that suffers. She is also going to talk to us about the LDS womens need to feel like they are to be perfect. I know there are times where I feel like I am under a microscope and being watched and judged by choices that I make. So I think this will let us all feel human together and really help us out as sisters in this gospel.

Cooking With Beans Class

Our cooking class this month is "Cooking With Beans". We will be learning how to turn beans into a wonderful meal or side dish. It will be at RuthAnna Terry's house on Thursday October 15th at 6:30. Hope to see you there!

Mark your calendars ladies!!! Super Saturday is coming up quickly. We will be having it Saturday November 14. It will go from 10-4! It is going to be awesome. We have about 11 projects to choose from. I will be posting pics of each project here shortly as soon as the committee gets them all done. Thanks for being patient with this blog thing. Cooking Class-Cake Mix Ideas

Nothing beats a night out making food! We had a great time learning all the different things you can do with a basic boxed cake mix. We had a small number there but still had fun. We missed all of you that weren't there but we know that the summer does that to all of us!
I will post the recipes that we used soon. Thank you RuthAnna for letting us use your AWESOME kitchen.

Fun In The Summertime

Thursday, June 25th we will be having our Self Help Group. This month we are having a guest come help us with summer boredom busters and local things to do during the summer to make it run a little more smoothly. It will be a great night and I hope to see you all there!!! She is putting a lot of work into it.

Time: 7:00 pm in the Relief Society room.

We Walked Away As Princess'

This was so much fun! We had a great turnout. I came home and counted up everyone that came and came up with 51 and who knows, I could have missed someone! 51 sisters and daughters, that is something to celebrate.
We had a wonderful time and the girls loved watching, learning, playing, and talking. Thanks to all of you that helped and for those that came. We missed all of you that weren't there, you certainly missed a great time.

Clothes Swap!!

Just a reminder that at our Pretty as a Princess night we will be starting our clothing swap table. Please bring any clothes that you don't need anymore that someone in our ward may be able to use. We will be having this table at each self help group which is the fourth Thursday of each month. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!!

Pretty as a Princess Night

For our self help group this month we will be doing a 'Pretty as a Princess' night. It will be May 28 at 7:00. We will be having three different classes that we will rotate through. The first class will be at home spa treatments and pedicures class, the second one will be makeup hints, the third class will be updo's for your little princess' hair (daughter, granddaughter, neice, whomever).

It is going to be a great evening of relaxation and please know that since it is May your daughters are invited to attend.

We are also going to start having clothing exchanges at our self help groups so if you have any clothes to donate or if you would like to pick up some gently used clothes please feel free. If you aren't able to make it to the activity you can drop it off to Mandee Dover and she will get it there. Much thanks. Hope to see you there.

The Retreat is now over and man was it fun. Thank you to all that came and we missed those of you that didn't!

Final Retreat Information

YAHOO!!! The retreat is one day away and we are so excited to just hang out and have a great time. We will be there tomorrow (thursday) to open the suite at 4:00. We will be eating dinner at about 6:30.

Please bring a sleeping bag and pillow just in case we have to sleep on the floor. We did get another unit so we will have a little more space for beds. If you are interested in swimming please bring your swimsuit and a towel. If you have favorite group games to play, please bring them. If you want to bring munchies that would be great too.

If you need to know the exact location please give me a call. I know the room and building number, just don't want to put that on here for the world wide web to know so please call me.

Can't wait to see everybody there!!! :)

Lunch Bunch

The Lunch bunch will be meeting at Outback Steakhouse for lunch on Tuesday May 12. We will be there at noon. Please join us if you can! It is always so much fun to meet as friends over yummy food. I am sure loving getting to know different sisters that have been coming. Hope to see you there. I will try to post some pictures of our Lunch date to show you just how much fun we do have! :)

We Are Retreating!

We are so excited for this retreat that we have coming up! We will be going to the Trendwest Resort in Green Valley for a couple of days. We hope that all of our Relief Society sisters will feel welcome and comfortable enough to come relax and retreat from our daily living.
It is Thursday May 14 at 4:00 until Saturday May 16 at noon. We will be in the presidential suite and it is going to be fantastic.

Thursday night we will be having a spaghetti dinner at 6:30. Then those who want to sleep over are more than welcome. Friday morning we will just have muffins and juice for breakfast. Then at 1:00 we will be having Chicken tacos for lunch. Friday evening at 6:30 we will be having a BBQ on the patio of our suite! How cool is that??? We will be passing around a sign up sheet at church asking for salads, and banana split toppings. We are trying to make this minimal cost. But at the same time, a great success.

There are two pools, a fitness room, we will be having a hike friday morning for those that would like to go. It is just going to be a lot of everything going on. Whatever you want to do, DO IT. :)
We will be doing karoke, games, and will bring chick flicks to watch! So please bring a pillow and sleeping bag if you are wanting to sleep over. The only request we have is to please carpool if possible. The parking is really limited.

We will be having a coupon class tonight, April 21, at 7:00! We will be in the Relief Society room. This is a great new way of clipping coupons and a easy way to save money at the store. I know of several people that have great success with this. The mastermind behind this program, Grocery Smarts, will be there as our guest to teach us about it. So please come join the fun and learn how to save great amounts of money in these hard times.
